Sept 25th 2008 - Under New Management!

Broken is now being published by Charke Publishing. What does that mean? Not much actually. I created Broken, and with much encouragement from The Le Games, I've started Charke Publishing.

Sept 2008 - Broken is now Free

Showing my support for The Le Games, Broken: The Memory of Solaris and Broken: The Lost Moon will be free from RPGnow and DriveThruRPG until later in 2009 when I finish my art revision. (Broken: The Multicorp was already free).  You can read about it in the blog archive. (Edit: You're there!)

August 2008 - Charke Publishing

I'm in the process of starting Charke Publishing. The next books in Broken, the Oldest Goblin, the Crystal Castle and the Pipedream will be released by Charke Publishing as well as Chronomancer: Time Travel for Everyone.

What is Broken

Broken is a fantasy campaign set in space after the destruction of the world of Solaris

40 years ago. Once richly populated with magic and psionics, home to a variety of cultures, Broken explores the story  of a civilization reduced to fragments drifting in the void, softening stone so it can be eaten, recycling precious food and air and struggling to create a trace of heat for comfort. Come explore space fantasy with a grim dose of reality where there is no air and normal sails do not work.

Dear Community,

Earlier today OneBookShelf Inc, owners of Rpgnow and DTRpg, discovered a second account which I had created some three years ago in their system. Upon investigation, they found that I had used this second account to post about a dozen reviews over the years, mostly of my own books. All the reviews rated the products as four or five stars, but that is no excuse for ethical lines which I have crossed. As such, all of my products have been suspended from OBS for two weeks as a punitive action for what I have done.
I'd just like to take this opportunity to apologize to OBS, the publishers who sell their fine products on OBS, and most importantly, all of you. Without you, the gaming community, my company wouldn't be successful today. It is all of you that raised The Le Games to where it is now, and frankly I let you down.
My actions are not justifiable by any sense of the imagination, and I am thankful that a two-week suspension is all that I received. We publishers should be striving to set a good example to others and bring a certain amount of class to the industry; something which I have forgotten.
That being said, I fully intend to make restitution to all of you. Starting seven days from today, I will release the following five books to the gaming community for free: Unorthodox Barbarians, Unorthodox Monks, Neo Paladins: The Martyr, Artifacts I: Ducks of Ultimate Doom, and 17 Magic Weapons.
    That's right, free.
And they will remain free forever.
That's not all -- in two weeks when my publishing status has been restored, my entire line of Unorthodox books will be available for just 99 cents.
I hope that it is within your heart to forgive me for what I have done, and perhaps regain your trust.

Thank you,
-The' Le

Sept 2008

I'm starting a company, Charke Publishing. It will be releasing The Last Goblin, The Crystal Castle and the almost complete Pipedream as well as Chronomancer: Time Travel for Everyone.

July 29th 2008

I've been in the bush for a month working as a surveyor but I brought my laptop. During that time I finished off two mini-books; the Last Goblin and the Crystal Castle. Both should be available soon!

April 6th 2008

That concludes an overhaul of the website. I've added pages for each of the books, revamped the menu system, added some art to the art gallery, created a new cover animation easter egg on the main page and made a number of link changes.

April 5th 2008

The Lost Moon has been sent off to The Le Games, along with Broken: The Oldest Goblin as a mini-book companion to the Lost Moon. Both should be released this month. I have done some playtesting on Broken: The Pipedream which is really shaping up. Yawn, excuse me, it's going on 2 AM and I've got to hammer out a few details for the playtest tomorrow.

I have also signed up with PayLoadz, an alternative to RPGnow.

February 1st 2008

I wanted everything done and published months ago but I've always been impatient to get everything done. The Lost Moon is just waiting for a final edit before I send it to The Le Games. The Pipedream is in playtesting and Zakume is still being written.

December 2nd 2007

I just started the En-World add banner and 20 minutes in and we've got 4000 adds of the 100 000 used. Wow those go fast!!! I figured it would be a good time to update the page!

November 15th 2007

I've been polishing Lost Moon, the frustratingly long process of finishing everything in the book, filling in anything you've missed and making sure it all makes sense. I've got to write one last NPC and then it's off to the editor. Once he's done I'll be doing the layout and importing the art, which won't take very long.  Work on  Pipedream continues and I'm planning the playtest. I'm also toying with another freebie product, Broken: The Last Sunrise, a morbid short adventure about the last day for adventurers who know they are going to die.

September 28th 2007

The playtest for the Lost Moon is done.  My playtesters abused the mutation rules from the core book and romped all over the moon as lycanthropes and half plants.  They really didn't like the werewolf minotaur. Finally, they convinced me to remove the atmosphere and make it more like the original Broken.

September 09 2007

I've added a podcast for Broken: the Multicorp, added transcripts for the podcasts for hearing impaired, updated a few menu items on the site  and I'm off to built a void demon that appeared spontaneously during the last playtest. My players are also clamoring for a were-void shark... ...I don't know. I'm having enough trouble solving the werebear strength issue.

(pst, The Lost Moon has lycanthropes.)

August 31st 2007 Broken: The Multicorp

The planned free-book for Broken has been renamed Broken: The Multicorp. I've just sent that in to `Le and he plans to have it out soon! It's a look at Broken from the perspective of Vor Stevenson, director of Void Survivor. It's only going to be 11 pages (including the d20 license and an add page) but it will contain all new art and text and did I mention it's going to be free?

August 22nd 2007

I just got in from GenCon where I was hawking my Broken business cards like candy. I had a lot of fun and recharged my batteries there.  Of course, I've still got jet lag but I'm brimming with ideas. I learned some new art tricks at the con that I couldn't wait to try.  Special thanks to Holly from her tips on Photoshop! You'll be able to see some of them in Broken: A Sample of Life, a short free product `Le asked me to put together.

I continue to work on the expansions, The Lost Moon and The Pipedream but in doing the sampler, I started some art on The Zakume Pyramid. I couldn't resist but it will be the third expansion and I haven't written any text on it yet. It's a while down the road.
